Commercial Blogs: Pure or Unpure?

Currently listening to: Ella Fitzgerald -Whatever Lola Wants

Ok. Was chatting to a friend, when the conversation drifted to commercial blogs.

This is my thing with blogs. Either you wanna go commercial and try to use your blog to generate some extra income/revenue, or, you completely go non commercial.

If you say that you are going to have a blog that you hope will generate some income, yet you claim to be COMPLETELY honest in it, and have no filtering whatsoever, I don't believe.

Why?

A commercial blog generates income based on one and only one criteria - traffic. If you got the traffic, you have the clout to place adverts, free trials, whatever...

A non commercial blog has no expectations and the only person it has to please is the blogger.

As such this non commercial blogger can truly say anything and everything he/she wants and feels, and blog about topics which is highly unlikely to generate a shitload of traffic.

Whereas the commercial blogger will blog in such a way, and/or blog about topics, that preferably would entertain/amuse/hook people so as to keep em returning. I am not saying he CREATES or INVENTS stuff or wat... all I am saying is, he goes through an internal filter system to sort of.."is this stuff reader-friendly? will it drive away readers? will it retain them? does it make them laugh?" and will emphasize putting on his blog whatever that will generate him that publicity and mass appeal, and sticks to safe topics more or less. So it is highly unlikely that he just goes OK I FEEL LIKE CRAP TODAY THAT m#@$#@$ #$# #@$$#@ blah blah... he wouldn't.

Hmm... ok lazy to go on.

Adios amigos.

[now THATS a non commercial blogger!]
